The Punjab Governor, Salman Taseer called on the acting President Muhammad Mian Soomro in Lahore, today.
The provincial governor, who is also the vice chancellor of all the seventeen public sector universities of the province, apprised the acting president about their functioning.
The Punjab chief minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif also called on acting president in Lahore today and discussed matters of mutual interest. The chief minister apprised the acting president about the major on-going development projects as well as the relief measures being provided to the unprivileged people and the flood affectees. The acting president appreciated these measures and directed to mobilize all possible sources to uplift the socio-economic condition of the masses.
